BATTLE OF THE MUSIC STREAMING SERVICES
As consumers, we always want the best things, aesthetically and functionality-wise. When it comes to music streaming services, the competition is between APPLE MUSIC and SPOTIFY. Although there are more great music streaming services, like Pandora, or Primemusic, these two are the main rivals when it comes to which one is preferred.
Last time I verified, Apple Music had a vast collection of songs, approximately 90 million in number, covering various music genres. In addition, as an Apple product, it has a user-friendly interface that can be conveniently accessed on Mac/PC or portable devices like smartphones or tablets. Also, you can download songs for offline listening when you don't have access to a Wi-Fi connection.
When it comes to payment, Apple Music provides only a trial version for free, and afterward, you need to subscribe. While this approach makes sense from a business perspective, especially considering the numerous exclusive features that attract potential users, the absence of a long-term free option may have restricted Apple's goal of expanding its user base. However, Apple Music is most used by artists who share their music in all streaming services because the payment y stream is way higher than their rivals.
SPOTIFY MUSIC
While current user figures are not frequently disclosed, it seems that Spotify has an edge with a bigger user community. According to their latest record, it has roughly 354 million users worldwide. Spotify has over 82 million songs and 3.2 million podcasts available, and its vast collection of music has played a significant role in its success. The platform has a strong emphasis on promoting new songs and emerging artists. When you launch the app, you'll see an overload of curated playlists that cater to almost every music genre. These playlists are regularly updated to ensure that your favorites don't become repetitive after lengthy usage.
Spotify has experienced numerous updates over time, but its current user interface is undoubtedly efficient. Unlike Apple Music, it is a platform that has been specifically optimized for smaller screens, evident from the abundance of options available on the screen simultaneously. Whether you're downloading a playlist or album to your mobile device or initiating a radio station based on an artist, the user experience is consistently user-friendly.
VERDICT
Both apps are great, however, my biased opinion is Spotify is 100% better than Apple Music. But take it with a grain of salt! I would say that if you're a music junkie, like me, it is way easier to find new music through Spotify than Apple music, simply because the experience is so much more personal. If you are an artist, I recommend you go to Apple Music, get that bank, and enjoy the clean apple aesthetic.
